WARNING: This site has been flagged by the Societe de Securite Francaise Nationale due to a recent photograph that reveals a secret anti-terrorist base and experimental croissant factory in Provence. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts or political leanings of jojofoto, aka, the blond terror, could be implicated and held accountable for said photographs. Information on her whereabouts - and latest hair style - will be rewarded (in Euros, not worthless U.S. dollars). In these times of turmoil and photographic uncertainty we call on all right-thinking bloggers to do the right thing. Art for art's sake alone can destroy the world and can lead to terroristic kittens and pinkos, aka, pinkie stylists, as well as non-metallic fanatics known to walk - or trot - quickly. Heed the seven signs of the apocalypse and remember a diet rich in fiber is healthy.

as we drove by this town we could see that it was empty...
we tried to find it on our very detailed michelin map...
not there!!
later we found out the military was using it for practice
and they were probably watching as we walked up and down the road looking for a way to get in ...
(um yes there were signs... in french ...something about "armes de distruction de masse"...not sure what that means)

this very-old-church
is in the town of Callas
which is near the town of Bargemon
which is where we stayed.
Bargemon is near Fayence
which is near Frejus
which is near Ste. Maxime
which is also where we stayed
which is near St Tropez
where we couldn't afford to stay
but is a good place to go for a tan.

so ...july 16,2007 i lost my watch
i did without for several WEEKS.
but when you live in a hotel and don't speak the language well enough to even ask what time it is ...you realize that clocks are not common in public areas.
that 's why watches are so nice. you can monitor the progress of your day without appearing to be the impatient foreigner.
august 3, 2007 was market day in APT...
..i took advantage
and bought a watch from a vendor
who used a steak knife to install a fresh battery...
strangely he used a screwdriver to eat his lunch.
it was a kitty-cat-hologram watch
(you know the kind..
when you look at it from different angles there is a different kitty)
it cost me 5 euros

facts:
they make good pate (and lots of it).
they look surprisingly good in a beret.
the snobby-rude ones are facing extinction.
they are against the use of fossil fuels.
they continue to boycott the flintstones cartoons, movies and vitamins
due to the unfair treatment of dinosaurs.
one question: what do you call a french dinosaur?
(monsieur)
