i finally bit the bullet and bought a scanner...it should be "drop-shipped" tuesday or wednesday.
(very poor choice of words if you ask me---i don't want them to drop it ever--or anywhere)
and more good news:
i shot an entire roll of film today!!!

spain was great.

sangria and then more old buildings.
one more glass of wine before bed...in an old building.
oh yes don't forget the storks...on top of the old (really-tall) buildings.
now i am home trying to get over jet-lag.
i will process some film soon-ish.

I was standing waist deep in weeds on the edge of an even deeper bunch of weeds growing out of a dry stream bed.  The cars were zipping by at around 50 in this 35mph zone... hmmm no wonder ...

This is somewhere along the Cotswold Way in England.
We hiked that 100 mile trail in 2005.
I wanted to see something besides the US of A.

Today I rode my bike about 18 miles but I feel like I just walked 30.
I better get in shape.

No more auto pilot for awhile (until june). I had a great time in LA (i miss ALL the girls).  No offense to you Tor...but your computer stinks! And I am glad to be home where the key board is familiar.

....... In our neighborhood everyone has a front porch. It's like having another living room.  And the alley behind all the houses is like back stage to a bunch of little theatrical productions.... I'll show you the alley before things are in full bloom .....

Below: An example of Howard's photo skills. Shooting with his blackberry Howard was able to capture an important part of the"krappy kamera kollage". The "kollage"  is an assemblage of over 1,000 entries who were not selected to be in the main show.  My photo is the one smack in the middle.  It's called "wedding guests".

Maybe next year they will have a show of krappy blackberry photos!!

This lonely road is at the back right corner of Foster Chapel Cemetery. I imagine it is  used for farming equipment.  After shooting this photo I walked out of the cemetery through the little wire fence to check out  the makeshift sign that was facing  the woods. It was  JLK's memorial. okay no more creepy stuff .........

There are two ways to enter this little cemetery. The main gated  entrance or just past  the cemetery there is a  gravel road probably used for farm equipment.  This marker is just inside the gravel road. When I shot this I still had not found JLK's  memorial  but it is to my left.

Just to the left is the little wire fence that is the back border of the cemetery and where I found JLK's memorial (yesterday's post). You can see the electrical wires that run along the road in front of the cemetery but  there isn't much else around.  It gets very dark out here at night. Except for a few "modern" stones in the front most of the headstones are from the mid-1800's.  That's pretty old for this part of the country.
I shot a lot of film here so stayed tuned.

This is a sad story.  I found this memorial after wandering around photographing this tiny, old cemetery west of Columbus. The  old headstones are surrounded by  nothing but prairie and forest. As you can see this memorial is  just outside the fence and faces a patch of dense trees. You can click on the image to view larger or I can tell you that it says that Jessica Lyn Keen was killed here on March 17, 1991.  Sixteen years ago today.  I shot the image last week and I can't stop thinking about it.  Here is one of several links (jessica)  if you want to know the story...it is sad and scary.
But it is a beautiful little place.

Another from the trip to France in 1997.  I remember not liking this one because the tree is unevenly lit. Ten years later that doesn't bother me.

I  am sifting through and organizing a lifetime of negatives. I am finding images I never considered printing.  I wonder why I didn't like this one.  It's from 1997. Somewhere near Sarlat, France.

I put the camera on a tripod at the foot of the bed. Every morning I took a photo.  But on the fifth day Louie (jojo's boyfriend) bumped the tripod out of position and that was the end of that...
I have to go to the dentist today.  I would rather stay in bed....

We spent the day walking all over Paris.  It was cold and damp, not a very nice day at all but if there had been any break in those clouds this photo would stink.
